Newsletters following our 'Visits' to Ibiza / Blogs
Twice a year we make neutering trips to Ibiza, and after
each one, a newsletter is written and sent out to all our members about the

V - for Volunteers!
Our new idea of using two
trapping teams working different weeks came in to play this Autumn. On the 16th
October we had a team of 6 who tackled the jobs on the West side of the island
whilst on the 31st October another team of 6 got to grips with the East side.
It's clear that this system works best as it removes the frustration of running
out of cages...although as they were working through the numbers so furiously
there was the odd occasion when even 60+ cages weren't enough! We were thrilled
to welcome some new volunteers along with the 'old hands' who are now firmly
part of the 'Ibiza' family. Nikki joined friends Tracey, Sue and Debs who've
trapped on Ibiza before...and being a vet nurse she was a welcome part of the
team. Added to that she arrived with a suitcase full of medication and
treatments.......read more

22nd Visit since the year 2000
This trip we
changed our approach to receiving calls - hopefully to improve both efficiency
and the records we need to keep for cats that we neuter. Because we now have
have volunteers from the island we were able to take calls from people needing
help before the teams arrived on Ibiza. This helped enormously as for the 1st
time the trappers could get on with the job without being interrupted by calls.
Plus every call came into a central central point where details were logged and
a reference number issued before the job was handed out to a team of
trappers.......read more

20th Visit since the year 2000
Once again we
were obliged to use the services of six local Veterinary Clinics. This is
because we still have not received official authorization by the Consell in
Ibiza city to bring volunteer Vets and Nurses from the UK and Europe to work for
no renumeration; for the benefit of the cats and the environment of Ibiza.
However this restriction does not prevent us from working, so this time the team
consisted only of a team of Trappers (and Logistics Managers). They were Sue and
David John from Tonypandy in Wales; Katie Edwards and Teresa Blair, from the
Cats Protection League in Wales; Ana Llanos, a driving force from Figuerettas,
Ibiza and Angela Collins, the Chairman of Care 4 Cats, organizer of this
trip.......

"In the heat of July Tracy, Debs, Angela and Jaki set about trapping and neutering as many cats in San Antonio as could be managed. This 'extra' visit was all down to Tracy and Debs who had already visited the island in May. Feeling that there was so much work left to do and fearing for many of the cats, they decided to use up the week they had off work in July to travel to Ibiza and continue to help the cats around San An.".....Click here to read this blog
